As a result, many of the students have signed up to support our Charity. The Rose Bay Charity Dinner in recognition of the New South Wales Police Force's 150th Anniversary raised almost $50,000 for 4 very worthy causes, being Youth off the Streets, Police Legacy, Law Enforcement Torch Run and the David Rixon Memorial Fund. LETR NSW will be conducting a Torch Run from the Nowra Police Station to the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre on Friday 27 April 2012, commencing at approximately 6.40pm.  The run will conclude with the official opening of the Games. The games will be held in Newcastle and will involve over 1700 athletes and 600 coaches.  Also present at the Media Launch were the Premier of New South Wales, The Hon Barry O'Farrell, the Minister for Sport and Recreation (The Hon Graham Annesley), the Minister for Disability Services (The Hon Andrew Constance), the Minister for Police and Emergency Services (The Hon Michael Gallacher) and the NSW Police Commissioner, Mr Andrew Scipione. The Final Leg will be held in South Korea as a lead up to the Special Olympics World Winter Games which will commence in Pyeong Chang on 26 january 2013.  Congratulations Darryal.  Two other LETR NSW members will be taking part in the Final Leg.  Don Stuart has been selected as one of 10 Running Team Leaders and Scott Whyte will be part of the Support Team for the event.  Australia will be well represented in Korea with Torch Runners being selected from Queensland, South Australia and Victoria and Brett Price from LETR Queensland also being selected as a Running Team Leader.
