Kurt Kendro is a 27 year veteran with the Honolulu Police Department and currently holds the rank of Major and serves as the commander of the Traffic Division. Kurt has been a member of the Executive Council for the last 10 years and currently holds one of the Law Enforcement At-Large positions and is the Chair of the Policies and Procedures Committee. Kurt was part of the inaugural Torch Run in Hawaii in 1986 and in 2002 was inducted into the Richard LaMunyon Torch Run Hall of Fame.

Antonio L. Williams is the Deputy Chief of Police for U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii he has been in law enforcement for over 27 years.  Prior to becoming a federal law enforcement officer, he served in the U.S. Army as a Military Police Officer for twenty-two years, retiring honorably as a First Sergeant in 2008.  

He had several overseas tours in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Among his many awards, Mr. Williams received the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal, three Meritorious Service Medals, and the distinguished combat service medal, the Bronze Star.

He became an MP because he knew he wanted to help people. It is that same sense of service that drives him to participate in helping of the Special Olympics movement.  Mr. Williams’ involvement with Special Olympics and the Law Enforcement Torch Run is extensive, beginning with his participation as a young soldier in Torch Runs and Tip-A-Cop events. 

His roles have expanded to include volunteer coach and unified player in softball and bocce, a highly successful fundraiser through annual Cop-on-Top, Tip-A-Cop, Fueling Dreams, Polar Plunge and Super Plunge events, not only is he a member of the Special Olympics Hawaii Executive Committee, but he also sits on the International LETR Executive Council spearheading the military initiative.  Most recently, Mr. Williams was honored with the selection as Hawaii’s Final Leg Running Team Leader for the 2013 World Games in Korea.

While he’s a dedicated and successful fundraiser, Antonio’s greatest contribution to Special Olympics is his ability to raise awareness by encouraging volunteerism and leading others to see the important value of the organization’s mission.  

Antonio holds a MS in Criminal Justice Administration from Chaminade University. He is a native of Evansville, Indiana but has called Hawaii home for the last 17 years.
